Partnering Sam Stosur, Leander Paes was playing against Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Robert Farah in the second round of the mixed doubles event.
The Indian-Australian wildcards won the first set 6-4 but conceded the second to the fifth seeds with a similar scoreline. The tiebreak to 10 was won by Groenefeld and Farah, ending Paes and Stosur’s run in Melbourne.
