At 11:06 AM, the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) stood at a position of strength in Sikkim, leading 11 out of the remaining 31 seats after Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling’s seat at Namchi-Singhithang was all but confirmed to be won.

Chamling also continues to lead Poklok-Kamrang, the other constituency he is standing from.

Earlier, Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) candidates had taken an early lead in six seats. The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) is leading in four seats. The ‘magic number’ to form the government is 17.

The state of Sikkim is electing its eighth Legislative Assembly, simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections. It was one of the 20 states to vote in the first phase of the general elections on 11 April. The elections in Sikkim were completed in a single phase.
