The latest tech trade E3 2020 shows the victim in the current fight against the COVID-19 virus, opting to join others like Mobile World Congress, Axpona, Munich High End, Facebook F8, and Google I/O in canceling the event.

The decision was made by the show organizer. They say “after our member’s careful consultation, companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry – our fans, our employees, our exhibitors, and our long-time E3 partners…We have made the tough decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles.”

“Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus,” the statement continues, “We felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We are too disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our fans and supporters. But we know it is the right decision based on the information that we have today.”

All exhibitors and attendees will receive full refunds, and to coordinate an online experience to showcase the many industry announcements E3 is exploring options with its members and news that was set to be made for the gaming community.

“We are thankful to everyone who shared their views on reimagining E3 this year. We look forward to bringing you E3 2021 as a reimagined event that brings fans, media, and the industry together in a showcase that celebrates the global video game industry.”
