Apple announced in December that it will start selling its HomePod smart speaker in China by early next year. And today the company has announced that the it will start selling its Smart Speaker in China and in Hong Kong starting from Friday, January 18th.
Now Apple started selling the HomePod a year ago in the US, and has since rolled it out to various countries in Europe. Apple’s HomePod has a some advantage over some of the other China’s domestic smart speakers like the ability to support both Mandarin and Cantonese. The Homepod is expected to to be priced at RMB 2,799 (approx $408.21), which is higher than the US price which is $350.
