Apple has recently launched a new version of its Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock to the online Apple Store, as spotted by MacRumors. The new dock carries a separate model number from its predecessor, which has been removed from the store.
The dock has the exact same design as the one it replaced and there’s no mention from Apple as to why it introduced a newer model. There is an FCC filing for the dock, but it also doesn’t reveal what has changed in the accessory,
as Apple requested the FCC withhold schematics and antenna specification to keep trade secrets confidential.
It’s likely Apple made minor internal updates.
