YouTube is recently offering a discounted prices for its Premium and Music services to students. YouTube Premium, which allows subscribers to watch ad-free videos and provides access to the platform’s lineup of prestige series, is $6.99 a month for students instead of $12.99, according to TechCrunch. YouTube Music, a streaming service similar to Spotify or Apple Music with an emphasis on music videos, is $4.99 a month instead of $9.99.

It looks like YouTube wants to push its Premium service and sign up as many members as possible, especially as the company starts to order more original series and work with more recognized Hollywood names.

YouTube hasn’t publicly stated how many subscribers YouTube Premium and YouTube Music have reached since the services launched. The ad-free version of YouTube, however, only garnered 1.5 million subscribers in its first year back in 2016. The company has since touted significant numbers for its platform overall, including nearly 2 billion monthly logged-in users and 450 hours of content uploaded every minute.

The discounted memberships for YouTube Premium and YouTube Music are available for college and university students in the United States. Those who sign up for YouTube Premium before January 31st, 2019, will get the service for $5.99 a month instead of $6.99.
