Earlier at Facebook’s F8 developer conference in May, WhatsApp announced that it will soon add group calling with both voice and video support later on this year. And now the feature is live for users around the globe on iOS and Android starting today. The group calling feature supports up to four people simultaneously, regardless of where those people are.

The company said that it engineered the feature to work under less than stellar network conditions, so users can video call a friend or family member from almost anywhere far away. Calls are also end to end encrypted, like all chats on the platform.

To use the new group calling feature, you’ll need to first start a one to one voice or video call with a contact, and then tap the ‘add participant’ button at the top right of your screen.

Now as announced by Whatsapp earlier this year it has 1.5 billion monthly active users and i am sure that most of them were definitely waiting for this to arrive if you are also a Whatsapp user make sure to check this new feature
