Verizon has recently expanded the access to its high speed data in 54 additional countries in its TravelPass program for travelers who are willing to pay extra. The program allows travelers to pay a flat fee each day for access to high-speed data, texting, and calling. New countries include Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Kenya.
With this new expansion, TravelPass is now available in 185 countries around the world, just 10 short of including every single country on the planet. You get 0.5GB of high-speed data for every 24 hour session, and if you exceed that amount, you have the option of buying another 0.5GB.
Verizon customers can now get TravelPass by texting the word TRAVEL to 4004, or they can go online or through the carrier’s app to sign up. It costs $10 a day to use, except in Canada and Mexico where it only costs $5. If you skip using TravelPass for a day, you won’t be charged for the day, as you only have to pay for days where you’re using your phone to call, text, or browse the web.
The 54 countries are: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Faroe Islands, French Polynesia, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Swaziland Gabon, Gambia, Georgia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Liberia, Macao, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mongolia, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Niger, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Seychelles, , Tajikistan, Timor-Leste, Tunisia, Uganda, Uzbekistan, and Zambia.
