On Sunday, Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer said that wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been ruled out for at least a week from the ongoing IPL due to a hamstring injury that he suffered recently.

Pant got injured during the match against Rajasthan Royals on Friday and missed the Sunday showdown against defending champions Mumbai Indians, which his team lost by five wickets.

Iyer said: “We have no idea (on Rishabh’s availability), the doctor said he has to rest for a week and hope he comes back really strong.”

Delhi are scheduled to take on Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday and Chennai Super Kings on Saturday this week.

He said: “Definitely, I would say 10-15 short, 170-175 on the board would have looked completely different. We really missed out when Stoinis got out, he was hitting the ball really well and also seeing the ball like a football, that was the main error that we did and something that we really need to work on.”
