Lucknow court has reportedly issued a non-bailable warrant against Yo Yo Honey Singh in a seven-year-old case lodged by IPS officer Amitabh Thakur. This is the second time the musician has landed in hot water recently due to his controversial lyrics.

An FIR was lodged against Yo Yo Honey Singh on 31 December, 2012, at the Gomti Nagar police station in Lucknow. The officer claimed that the lyrics of the song Main hoon balaatkari, sung by Honey Singh, were derogatory and condemnable. The complainant added that the song in question was widely available on the internet.

After investigation, the Lucknow Police registered a case against the Yo Yo Honey Singh on 27 June 27 2013, under Sections 292, 293 and 294 of the IPC. The court had ordered the rapper to appear before it on 23 December, 2013 but Honey Singh did not follow the court’s order. The court has now asked the singer to appear before it on 11 September, 2019.
