Jody Wilson Raybould resign from the cabinet

After resigning from the cabinet last week, Liberal MP Jody Wilson-Raybould recently said that she still cannot publicly explain her decision to resign from the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s cabinet but is looking forward to talking to her fellow caucus members.

On the way into a caucus meeting on Parliament Hill, she said that she knows it is frustrating for many people that she cannot comment further, adding she still needs to know what she can and cannot say.

According to the reports of Globe and Mail Wilson-Raybould, who was shuffled into the veterans affairs portfolio in January, was pressured by staff inside the Prime Minister’s Office to help the Montreal engineering giant avoid a criminal case on corruption charges related to government contracts in Libya.

Wilson-Raybould has cited concerns over solicitor client privilege in saying she can’t speak further about the circumstances around her departure from cabinet.
