On Tuesday, Bollywood actor Sunny Deol, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, amid speculation that he will contest the Lok Sabha elections. Union minister Piyush Goyal was also present at the press conference to announce Deol’s induction into the party.
In the press conference Sunny Deol said: “I will work and show you my capabilities more than I can show in words.”
“The way my father (Dharmendra) worked with and supported Atal (Bihari Vajpayee) ji, I am here today to work with and support Modi ji. My work will do the talking,” he added.
Welcoming Deol into the party, Sitharaman said that she was happy that Deol had been attracted to the work of the prime Minister and taken the decision to join the party.
